So many new mothers feel ugly, overweight and useless. To get rid of this feeling, mom must eat right, exercise and get plenty of sleep to achieve weight loss after childbirth. It sounds simple but countless moms don’t follow these guidelines. When your baby sleeps, sleep along with him/her. The laundry, dishes and dirty bathroom will still need to be cleaned tomorrow, as they won’t clean themselves, but you must reserve your energy for your child. Wasting time and inner fuel on chores that can wait decreases your energy level, mood and patience.

Besides getting enough rest, make sure you eat the right kinds of food to achieve weight loss after childbirth. Taking the time to make healthy food choices might seem impossible but not eating correctly will keep the baby fat on, not take it away. If you have family staying with you, ask them to cook the meals. Plan the menu with them so they understand your goal of losing weight. For those who don’t have family visiting, ask a friend to bring a meal over. When you’re back to normal, you can return the favour.

Exercise serves as another vital aspect of weight loss after child birth. You may not feel like going for a 5K run, but moderate exercise will burn calories, tone your body and help you lose weight. Brisk walking while pushing the stroller, swimming, bike riding and participating in aerobic classes are good choices for a post-baby workout. Join up with other moms to make it more fun.
